Are tech companies censoring evidence of war crimes?

TikTok and other tech companies have strict regulations around the content that can be posted on their platform. They use human moderators and robust AI to remove content even before anyone sees it. As the world grapples with war, there are speculations that Big Tech is removing the evidence of war crimes.

The ground videos uploaded by Ukrainians may be used later to take action against war crimes. However, they may not be passing graphic content norms set by social media companies.

There isn’t any clear information about the amount of content that tech giants like Meta, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok may be taking down or whether it is being stored. This is problematic for investigators, as this censorship is adversely affecting evidence gathering.
