Special police officer, wife, daughter shot dead by terrorists in J&K

A special police officer in Jammu and Kashmir police Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and his wife Raja Begum were shot dead by terrorists on Sunday night in Pulwama, Kashmir. His daughter was also injured in this attack. The whole incident occurred at around 11 p.m. at Hariparigam in Awantipora area.

Police officer with his family were at home when terrorists barged into their house and riddled them of bullets.

J&K Police confirmed the entire incident and said, “Fayaz along with his wife and daughter received critical gunshot injuries. The family members were taken to the hospital, but the SPO and his wife Raja Begum died on the spot. At the same time, his daughter Rafia has been referred to another hospital for treatment.” Later, Rafia died on Monday morning.

Soon after the incident, the security forces have sealed the entire area. A search operation is also being conducted but no arrests have been made so far.

Many political leaders condemned the killing and expressed condolence through official social media handle.

Few hours before this incident, two- back-to-back explosives were dropped via drone on the Indian Air Force base in Jammu, in which two Air Force personnel suffered minor injuries.

Recently, an Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) was reportedly sighted over Kaluchak military station in Jammu. Some areas in J&K have been put on high alert and bomb disposal squads have been deployed.
