Olympic champion wrestler Sushil Kumar shifted to Tihar jail

The prime suspect in the Sagar Rana murder case, Olympic medallist Wrestler Sushil Kumar has been shifted to Tihar jail from Mandoli Jail, Delhi.

According to the jail administration, this is a routine process and this has been done for security reasons. Sushil Kumar and his associates allegedly assaulted wrestler Sagar Dhankar also known as Sagar Rana and his friends.

The video of the incident has gone viral over the internet in which wrestler Sushil Kumar with his associates kidnapped 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Rana and two of his friends Sonu and Amit Kumar.

In the video, the wrestler can be seen hitting the victim lying on the ground with hockey stick at New Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium.

Police confirmed the news and said, “Sushil and his associates have been accused of abducting Sagar from his house in Model Town to teach him a lesson for bad-mouthing him in front of other wrestlers. Sushil even told a guy named Prince to make a video of the incident and wanted it to go viral in his community so that nobody else dares to offend the veteran wrestler.”

Wrestler Sagar Rana died on the spot after being brutally assaulted, while two of his friends were seriously injured. The Olympic champion faces charges of murder, culpable homicide and kidnapping.

Sushil Kumar and his associates were arrested by team of Special Cell, Delhi Police on May 23rd, 2021.
